Obituary of Jane Hodgins-Prophet
It is with great sorrow that the family of Elizabeth “Jane” Hodgins-Prophet announces her passing on Sunday, September 16th at the age of 56 years. Jane passed away peacefully at her home in Peterborough surrounded by family.
Born in Ottawa on November 8th, 1961, Jane is survived by her loving life-partner Richard Prophet, her mother Greta Sault and stepfather Robert Sault as well as her two children Jesse Prophet (Jennifer) and Chelsea Prophet (Keith Flood). Jane is also survived by her siblings Rick Hodgins (Jill), Wendy Orcutt (Jay) and Leslie Murray. Jane will be lovingly remembered by her many nephews and nieces, extended family and friends.
Jane will forever be in the hearts and minds of the many who loved her. She was a caring and generous individual who used every opportunity to shower her friends and family with gifts. Her love for shopping only increased her generosity.
A celebration of life will be held on September 24th, 2018 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 20 Young Road, Kanata at eleven o’clock a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall.
A private interment will take place at Bellevue Cemetery on September 25th, 2018 where Jane will be laid to rest next to her late father, Desmond Hodgins.
