December 6, 1926- July 8, 2018
Dear Dad,
On July 8, 2018 you took your last breath only to leave us with many fond memories of you as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. You traveled from Italy to Canada in 1947 for a better life. In writing numerous letters back home to Celina Infanti you convinced her to travel to Canada where you married on December 31, 1957. You and mom did everything together. You worked together on the farm, gardened, raised a family and enjoyed social time activities as one. There is not one memory that does not have the two of you together. We celebrated your 60th wedding anniversary this past December – a sign of the love and commitment the two of you had for each other. Family was very important to you. Your children and their partners – Mary (Joe), Linda (Bob), Lorenzo (Nancy) and Sylvia (Ernie,2009) and your grandchildren and their partners Stephanie (Ben), Samantha (Lewis), Alex, Kristen, Paige and Matthew will always remember the work ethic you instilled in us, your love of family, gardening, wine and soccer. You were blessed with one great-grandchild, Bridgitte who always brought a smile to your face.
We would like to thank the staff at Sakura House for the care that they provided to you and the support provided to the family. We raise a glass of wine to you dad! Salute!
In keeping with Ivo’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Memorial donations to V.O.N. Sakura House can be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home 43 Bidwell St. Tillsonburg, Ontario, N4G 3T6 (519 842 5221) who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
