Obituary of Irene Dorey
Dorey, Irene E. It is with great sadness that the family of Irene E. Dorey announces her passing on Friday, December 21st, 2018. Irene was the daughter of the late Tracey and Laura (Hatt) Dorey of Bridgewater. Irene is survived by her daughter Rhonda Jefferson (Lee Atkinson); grandson Jeremy Jefferson (Kesha Wile); sister Pauline Miller; sisters in-law Better Dorey and Glenda Dorey; brother in-law Alfred Farmer; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters Barbara Brown and Mary Farmer; a brother in infancy; brothers Merle Dorey, Donald Dorey and Willis Dorey. As a young lady, Irene spent many summers picking fruits and vegetables in the Annapolis Valley, she later worked at the laundromat in Bridgewater until she was hired at Michelin in Bridgewater where she worked for 25 years. Irene loved to laugh and joke around. Her kind and loving spirit will be remembered and missed by many. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 28th at 2:00 pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater with a service at 3:00 pm. A reception will follow immediately in Sweeny’s Funeral Home. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the family by request. Cremation has taken place.
