OBITUARY
Mr. Ian Peter Campbell Scarth
February 17, 1945 – November 5, 2018
Scarth, Peter passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on November 5, 2018.
Lovingly remembered by his wife Eleanor (nee Murphy); children Bruce (Rosanne), Leslie (Jeff), John (Dawn), Brian; grandchildren Owen, Emily, Jake, Ashton, Anika and Lily; his sister Monica Holgate (John) and brother-in-law Kent Murphy (Maryl); and other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ian and Emily Scarth.
Born in Annapolis Royal, NS, Peter grew up in Belleville ON and attended Queen’s University in Kingston becoming a Chemical Engineer. This brought him to a job at Kodak Canada, where he very soon was working in Marketing. Work with Kodak brought Peter and the family from coast to coast, living in Toronto, Moncton, Georgetown, North Vancouver, Rochester NY and back to Georgetown ON. After retiring from Kodak in 1997, Peter became an active entrepreneur and moved out to West Vancouver in 2000. Peter was always kind, positive, enthusiastic, passionate about issues and was continuously interested in new ideas, ventures and connecting people. He was a great believer in the valuable synergy of bringing people together on a topic or project. He always told everyone “ DREAM BIG!!”
Our family will miss him greatly but are so thankful that we have wonderful memories and pictures of our adventures together.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2 pm at Gleneagles Clubhouse, Great Hall, 6190 Marine Drive, West Vancouver. A second celebration will be held back east at the cottage in summer 2019.
