Forever missed & always remembered
It is with great sadness that the family of Hugh Patrick Maloney age 69 of Amherst announce his passing at Willow Hall in Dartmouth Nova Scotia on Wednesday December 5th, 2018.
Born in River Hebert, Hugh was the son of the late Hugh and Elsie (Brine) Maloney.
Hugh really enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, he loved cooking and baking for everyone he cared for. One of his favorite times with his grandchildren was watching them play ball and taking them shopping.
After 26 years of working as a correctional officer in Dorchester Penitentiary he retired at the age of 49. After retirement he then made it his mission to keep everyone on their toes.
Hugh will be missed by his children; Tammy (Joe O’Dell), Hugh, Julie (Basil Hicks) all of Amherst, grandchildren; Samantha, Jessica, Brittany, Joey, Kathleen, Travis, Aidan, Ty, Cullan, and great grandchildren, siblings; Roger (Brenda), Allison (Libby) both of River Hebert, Joan (Murray), Betty (Ron), Jeanette (Terry) all of Amherst, Jean (Jimmy) of Maccan as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Hugh is predeceased by his sister Ruth Agnew.
Following Hugh’s wishes cremation has taken place, a celebration of life will be held on Monday December 10th, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00pm in Campbell’s Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place in the spring of 2019 in the Ragged Reef Cemetery in River Hebert NS.
