Thomas Hon Sing Cho Obituary (November 8, 1947-December 22, 2018)
Thomas Hon Sing Cho passed away on December 22, 2018 at the age of 71. Thomas came to Vancouver, Canada in 1973 at the age of 26. He was a devoted husband and father to wife, Catalina Cho and sons Allan (Valerie), and Garren. Throughout his life he worked tirelessly to provide for his family, working long days and nights doing electronic repair work. He and his wife, Catalina, operated Granville T.V. for 34 years from 1975 until his retirement in 2008. He was a fixture in both the Marpole and Victoria Drive community where his regular customers consulted him on anything electronic and technical.
Thomas came from a small rural village, Panyu in Guangdong, China and never forgot his roots there. In Canada he remained devoted to his aging mother, Chan Yuk Kee, and his two siblings, Chui Mui, Moon Ching (Jean) and Shu Sing (Stephen) and their families. He will be deeply missed by his siblings. In retirement, he was the ultimate loving father who had the deepest of bonds with his family. A resourceful gardener, he enjoyed working in his backyard and grew different types of vegetables which he shared with family, friends, and neighbours each year.
Thomas will be forever missed and is survived by his loving wife, Catalina, son Garren, and Allan (Valerie). Special thanks to the medical team at St. John Hospice at UBC. The family is grateful for the respectful, dignified and compassionate care it provided.
