Obituary for Helen Louise Prowse (Manning)
Helen Louise Prowse (nee Manning)
March 31, 1926 – November 29, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen on November 29th,
2018 at 92.5 years of age. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Prowse in 1996 and her
son-in-law Chris Rathwell in 2004. Proud and loving Mother to Bill (Margie), Karen Rathwell, Catherine Blair (Geoff), David (Joanne) and Carolyn Fainmel (Mark). Loving Grandmother to Christie (Sage), Jocelyn (Reid), Donald, Kaitlyn, Alec, William (Sarah), Kelly, Emily (Brent), John and Allison (Marcus) and Great Grandmother (“GG”) to Silas, Landon, Grady, Clayton, Estelle, Abigail and Briar. Helen was born in Chatham, Ontario. She moved to Toronto as a child where she lived until Don’s retirement and then moved to Oakville. She lived her last three years in Guelph at the Village of Arbour Trails. Helen was known for her subtle sense of humour and strength of character. She was always up for a game of Rummikub. She was the cornerstone of her large
family and will be sorely missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the “Town Hall” at Arbour Trails (32 Bayberry
Drive, Guelph) on Saturday December 8th at 11:00. If desired, in lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to Massey Centre for Women in Toronto or a charity of
your choice.
