It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Hazel Trask (nee: Martin) while surrounded by her loving and devoted family in the privacy of her residence on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Born in Bunyan’s Cove on Thursday, March 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Reuban and Annie (nee: Burt). Leaving with fond and precious memories to cherish for a life time are her children Barry (Debbie), Carl, Donna (Cyril Russell); grandchildren David, Robert, Melissa, Lukas, Brianna, Giselle; great grandchildren Jack and Mary; siblings Brenda, Genevieve, Elsie, Neta, as well as her precious puppy Sochi and a large circle of extended family and those who held the privilege of acknowledging Hazel as friend. Including her late parents, she was predeceased by husband Wilmour, son in law Billy Stansbury, siblings and in laws Ralph, Dotchen, Eneth (Bill), Ray, Art. Family will be accepting visitors from Carnell’s Funeral Home (329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s) on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM. A service of thanksgiving will take place on Monday, December 10, 2018 from Carnell Memorial Chapel, followed by burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers or memorial donations graciously accepted in Hazel’s memory by the Canadian Cancer Society or the local S.P.CA. A special note of sincere thanks to her health care team from beginning to ending and specifically Cathy Adey for your love, care and attention, that did not go unnoticed and will be unforgotten.
