Life Story for Grant Joseph Hay
Grant Joseph Hay 1962-2018
Grant Hay, of Rocky Mountain House, past suddenly on Friday, March 16th, 2018 at the age of 55.
Grant was born on June 29, 1962, to parents, Joe and Agnes Hay in North Battleford, Sask., and grew up in St. Walburg with his five siblings. In the summer of 1981, he married the love of his life, Lillian Volk. They had three beautiful children, Rebecca, Joe and Cody. The most important thing to Grant was always his family. His grandchildren were his absolute pride and joy. He was always helping out in any possible way and doing all he could to make the lives of those around him better. Grant’s passions were hunting and fishing. He enjoyed many fishing and hunting trips with both family and friends. Growing up he spent his time playing hockey and this love continued into adulthood as he coached minor hockey. Grant worked in the oil and gas industry and his career took him to many locations across western Canada as well as Pakistan and Iraq.
Grant is survived by: his wife, Lillian; his children, Rebecca (Josh), Joe (Sara), Cody (Kayla); his grandchildren, Micheal, Hailey, Evan, Thayne, Scarlett, Jaxyn and Seth; his father, Joe Sr; and his sisters, Donna (Lyle), Joan (Robert) and Arla (Larry).
He was predeceased by: his mother, Agnes; and his brothers, Dave and Tim.
A Celebration of Grant’s Life will be on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 1pm at the Hardindell Hall, Rocky Mountain House (384089 Hwy 752). Internment will take place in the summer. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Funeral Home and Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Grant’s name to the Rocky Rams Junior Forest Wardens Site 146 Comp 2 RR4, Rocky Mountain House, AB T4T 2A4.
