Gordon Maxwell Sturrock 1930 2018

Obituary of Gordon Sturrock
Imperial Oil Agent for 34 years.
Passed away peacefully on June 1, 2018 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 88.
Gord was born in Toronto on March 21, 1930 to parents Albert Sturrock and Ada Menary. Beloved husband of Lucille (nee Forder) for nearly 67 years. Devoted father of Sharon (Bill Moore) of Ajax, and Don (Dale) of Bowmanville. He is survived by his brother Howard (Helen), sister Audrey and her late husband Don Thompson. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Michael (Jackie), Michelle, Melanie (Andre), Mark (Anne) and Janelle (Steven). Gord was also a proud great grandfather to Ayden, Camryn, Brendan, Blake and Hudson.
Special thanks to the entire staff in the Emergency Department, ICU and Supportive Care Units at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, who made him comfortable, and to Chaplin Ji-Sook Kyun and Rev. Anita Sipos for their kind prayers and support. He will be sadly missed by his many friends, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville on Thursday June 7th from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at ST. ANDREW’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 47 Temperance St., Bowmanville, on Friday June 8th at 11 am. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation in Gord’s name to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church of Bowmanville, or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
