Gordon Vimy Simpson, 99 of Stave Falls, B.C., passed away on August 24th, 2018, after having been surrounded by his family for the last 10 days. Gordon was born on September 16, 1918 in Prince Rupert, B.C. to Eliza and John Simpson. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, and his daughters Linda and Shelley, and son-in-law Barry. Gordon lived most of his life in Stave Falls and worked in the family business, Simpson Bros Logging, for more than 60 years. Gordon is survived by six children, Margaret Pearson, Jo-Ann Knuttila (Ken), Russell Simpson (Cheryl), Lesley Elchuk (Arnie), Laurie Hunter (Doug), Holly Long (Bud), 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 6 great, great, grandchildren, along with all the spouses of these grandchildren. Gordon’s greatest joy was his family, and he spent every minute he could with family. Gordon was a Mason, a Shriner and an Eastern Star member for over 60 years. Funeral at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel 11969 216 Street, Maple Ridge on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with internment to follow at the Masonic Cemetery 4305 Halifax Street, Burnaby.
