Gordon Husted Christensen December 22nd 2017

Gordon Christensen passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the age of 90 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Yvonne Christensen; son, George Christensen; grandchildren, Terri (Joel) Moore and Steven Christensen (Shandra Van Camp); and great grandchildren, Olivia and Ryder. Gordon is predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Lutie; and siblings, Victor, Anna, Elise, Christian and Esther and their spouses.
Gordon lived and farmed in the James River Bridge community for most of his life. He had been active on the Caroline Recreation Board and the James River Bridge Community Centre Board. Gordon also delivered propane for the Mountain View Propane Co-Op for a number of years. Gordon married Lutie (nee Pierce) on July 13, 1957 in Banff, AB and together they had two children. They very much enjoyed their time as the Caroline ECS Kindergarten grandparents. Gordon often said how proud he was of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Gordon’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gordon’s memory to The James River Bridge Willing Workers in James River, RR 1, Site 22, Box 16, Sundre, AB, T0M 1X0 or to the Kevisville Community and Church (Care of Sarah Hetu), 3360 Township Road 360, Red Deer County, AB, T4G 0L2.
