Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory Of
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Goldie Margaret Thompson announce her passing on Wednesday April 25, 2018 at Gables Lodge with her loving family by her side.
Born in Amherst on August 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Alan and Eliza (Gaudet) Tattrie.
She enjoyed crafts, bowling and loved to have people drop in for a cup of tea. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters for many years.
Goldie will be lovingly remembered & sadly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by daughters: Diane (Archie) McFadyen, Charlottetown, Judy (Eric) Black, Amherst, Thelma (John) Anderson, Halifax, Linda (Jim) Long, Amherst. Sons: Doug, Amherst and Kenny, Ottawa; 8 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren. Sisters: Rita Kent, Alice Simpson & Fran Perry all of Oshawa and Audrey Reid, Amherst. Brother: Doug, Ontario.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Doug; brother Alan (Junior) of British Columbia.
Goldie’s family would like to send a sincere thank you to the staff of Gables Lodge for their loving, caring and compassionate care. There truly are “angels” on earth.
A celebration of Goldie’s life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm held in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906.
Donations in her memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, Salvation Army or charity of your choice.
