Obituary for Glenville Bancroft Wolfe
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Glenville Wolfe, (Glen) announce his passing at River Park Gardens. Glen was predeceased by his son, Carl, in 1987. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 60 years Jeannette, his daughter Sheila (Lou Carnevale), two granddaughters, Sarah and Andrea and his brother Lensley (Audrey) in Jamaica, as well as a large extended family in Winnipeg and abroad.
Glen immigrated to Nelson, England in 1955 where shortly thereafter he met the love of his life, Jeannette. In 1968 Glen, Jeannette, Carl and Sheila moved to Winnipeg where they eventually settled in Windsor Park.
He was a hardworking man who at times worked more than one job in order to provide the opportunities for his family that he never had. The most important thing in Glen’s life was family, his large extended Jamaican family and, closer to home, his wife and daughter. His dreams came true when Sarah was born and, to put icing on the cake, Andrea came along two years later. His grandchildren were a source of pride and enjoyment to him, and they in turn adored him and will have wonderful memories of him to carry with them the rest of their lives.
Glen loved gardening, spending time with a close group of friends and singing with the Male Winnipeg Chorus and the St. Bartholomew Anglican Church Choir. He was admired for his outstanding bass voice.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ertrice Eddy for all her rehab help after Glen had his stroke as well as all the wonderful staff at Prime (Paula) Deer Lodge. A special thank you to the caring and compassionate staff at River Park Gardens for all their support the past two years.
In lieu of flowers donations to Leukemia Manitoba, or Heart and Stroke would be greatly appreciated. For on -line condolences please visit the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre website.
Funeral service will be held December 28 11:0 0 a.m. at St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, 881 Autumnwood Drive. Parking is available across from the church at Frontenac School.
