Glenda Marie Googoo
1963-2018
GOOGOO, Glenda Marie –
Age 54 years of We’koqma’q First Nation, who
suddenly passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at her home
residence. Born in Baddeck on July 14, 1963, she was the daughter of
the late Alexander (Alex R.) Googoo and Pauline Googoo
(Gould).
Glenda was well known for her artist abilities in her arts
and crafts. She always seen something artistic in anything she can get
a hold of. She had numerous friends from near and afar. Glenda was an
artist, beader, basket maker, painter, seamstress, camper, basically a
“jack of all trades” as there wasn’t anything she
wouldn’t try. Her jobs included landscaping,
beadwork classes & babysitting. Most of all she
loved to spend time with “her Dylan”, family and close
friends. Gollin’s & Dianne’s Lane will
never be the same without her and the love she had for her numerous
cats and dogs. You could never come to visit her for a few minutes and
you always left with something she just made. She was well known for
her sense of humour and storytelling.
She is survived by her one and only son, Dylan Googoo;
brothers, Frankie Googoo (Shannon), Donnie, and special brother,
Dougie Paul all of We’koqma’q; Gabriel &
Daryl of Wagmatcook; sisters, Rara Gould (Terry), Draw, Lilly, Vivy,
Carolynn all of We’koqma’q; Sheila Williams
(Daniel) of Lincoln, N.B. Numerous nieces and nephews; godchildren,
Alichia (Wasuek) Googoo, Robbi-Lynn Gould & Barbara Jean
Googoo; godmother, Pearl Googoo. Also, countless friends from near and
far. She was predeceased by brother, Terry Googoo; maternal
grandparents, Mary Jane & Frank Gould; fraternal grandparents,
Michael P. & Ellen Googoo; aunts, Freda Bernard, Emily
Phillips, Margaret Simon (Ekkilit), Mary B Bernard, Germanie Martin;
uncles, Simon (Paqsima) Gould, William Googoo, Stanley Googoo, Ryan J.
Googoo, Gabriel Googoo, Henry Googoo, Donald Googoo.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, in the
Multi Purpose Building, 160 Reservation Road,
We’koqma’q. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday,
July 23, in St. Katari Holy Trinity Church,
We’koqma’q with Father Conrad Edwards officiating.
Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements are
under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel,
