Gertrude’s Obituary
ACKER, Gertrude Mae – Age 99 of Truro and formerly of Wilmot passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018, in The Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born in Arlington, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Theresa (Hazel) Magee. Gertrude was an adherent of the Kingston United Church, where in early years was involved with the UCW and Sewing Circle. She loved quilting, mat hooking and crocheting. Gertrude was the last surviving member of her immediate family, however she is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Ferd, she was predeceased by her sisters, Stella, Florence, Agnes and Pauline as well as her brother, Henry. A visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 26th at the Kingston United Church, Rev. John Moses officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Church Hall. Interment will be in the Springfield Cemetery. By request, family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.
