Obituary of George Constable
Born January 9, 1933, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 26, 2018.
George was born in Dunfermline, Scotland and after two years in the British army he began work for the Railway. In 1958 George and his new bride Elma moved to Winnipeg where George worked for the City of Winnipeg Transit for the next 30 years. For most of their lives they resided in Valley Gardens, Winnipeg with their son Peter. Earlier this year, Elma passed away suddenly and George made the decision to move to Nova Scotia to be close to his son & family. He enjoyed a brilliant Nova Scotia summer spending precious time with his family before taking ill in September.
George was predeceased by his wife “Elma” Helen Greenhorn (nee Ferrier ), his sister Nancy & brother in law John, younger brother Tommy and sister in-law Sandra as well as his parents Thomas and Empfuemia.
George is survived by his son Peter, daughter in – law Linda MacKay and his grand-daughter Megan, as well as brothers and sisters in law and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place at George’s request and ashes will be spread at a later date.
There are no services. Donations may be made in George’s memory to the charity of your choosing.
