Obituary of George Corrie
Peacefully passed away on December 31st, 2018 at North Lambton Lodge at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Velda (King) Corrie and the late Rita (Swan) Corrie. Loving father of Michael (Denise) Johnson and Debbie (Jamie) Le Blanc. Proud George of Stephen, Kevin, Julia (Jason), Gail, Alan, Ken, Larry, Melissa, Josh (Charlotte), Anthony (Lindsay), and Rebecca (Matt) and several great-grandchildren. George will also be lovingly remembered by his nephew Allan Corrie Jr. Predeceased by his parents Jesse (Warne) and George A. Corrie, his brother Allan Corrie, his daughters Marie (Hugh) Hutchison, Diane (Morris) Tasse, his son Ian Tuft, and his grandson Daniel Ackworth. Many thanks to those who helped George enjoy his home, including Kevin & Sandie, Bill, Stan, and the many compassionate care providers of Red Cross Care Partners, Lambton County. Appreciation is also extended to all CEE Hospital, Continuing Care staff and Dr. Butler of Petrolia for their care of George. Special thanks to all the staff at North Lambton Lodge for welcoming George into his new home and providing him with care and friendship. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3rd, 2018 from 2:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at DENNING’S OF WATFORD. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4th at 11:00a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Watford Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Watford or the Oil Springs Legion Branches, or the CEE Hospital Foundation of Petrolia.
