George J. Bureaux
1924-2018
George J. Bureaux, 94 years of
age, of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Thursday , November 8, 2018
at Northumberland Hall, Amherst. Born in Joggins, he was a son of the
late John & Fernande (Bayart) Bureaux.
George worked at Murdoch Motors Amherst, Casey Ford until
1956 and then worked for Tantramar Motors from 1956 until his
retirement in 1986. He enjoyed fishing, was a handy man and had a
knack for restoring old cars. George built his summer cottage in
Lorneville and enjoyed many summers relaxing at the
beach.
George will be sadly missed by children, Jim (Holly) of
Halifax, Nancy Read ( Wayne) of Amherst, Dean (Norma) of Amherst;
grandchildren, Stephanie Read ( Layton Bennett) of Dieppe, Sandra
Moore ( Wade) of Amherst, Lyndsey Bureaux (Paul) of Amherst; great
grandchildren, Bryson & Jackson Gates; brother, Alfred of
Riverview.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Martha,
step mother, Helen Harrison; sisters, Florence, Agnes, brother,
Leon.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of
Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). A time of remembrance will be held at
Furlong-Jones Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 2-4 p.m.
Burial to take place in the Amherst Cemetery on Wednesday, November
14, 2018 at 10 a.m.
No flowers by request. Should friends desire, memorial
contributions may be made to the charity of your
choice.
