The death of Genevieve Landry of Jacquet River occurred at her residence Thursday, October 04, 2018 at the age of 90. Born in Curling East, NFLD. she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah Ann (O’Keefe) Galloway.
Genevieve was a teacher for many years having taught in Doyleville, Nash Creek and Jacquet River. She also was the past president of Legion Durham Branch 77 as well as Past President of Branch 77 Ladies Auxillary.
Genevieve is survived by her children; Bernice Arnold (George) of Doyleville, Tommy (Janice) of Jacquet River, Betty Harvey (Lloyd) of Nash Creek, Maureen Dennis (Ron) of Stephenville,NFLD., Leo (Shirley) of Benjamin River, Gregory Furlotte Landry of Grande Prairie, Alberta; special friend Edmond Degrechie; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister Maureen Bertin (Clifford); as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband James H. Landry; sons Gene and James P.; brothers George, Thomas, Bernard, Lawrence and sisters Mary, Rita and Winnie.
Her funeral will be held at St. Gabriels Church, Jacquet River Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11am. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
