Gary Dassy
DASSY, Gary – Passed away at the Woodstock Hospital on Wednesday September 19, 2018. Gary William Stewart Dassy of Woodstock just after turning 76. Beloved husband of Starla Mitchener Dassy for over 40 years. Dear father of Cindy (Michelle Peters) Davey, Tristan (Jenni) Dassy, Shawn Dassy and Erin Lawrence. Loving grandfather of Justin, Joshua, Chelsea, Blake, Megan, Madeline and Austin. Dear brother to Susan (Peter) Alleyne and the late Lynda McCann. Gary served with the Canadian Armed Forces from 1959 – 1965 as a peacekeeper in Egypt, Cyprus and Germany. He was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #55, Woodstock and the O.C.N.V.A. (Navy Club). A private time of remembrance will take by the family at a later date. Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial contributions to the Royal Canadian Legion, Navy Club or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated and arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock, 519-539-0004.
