Obituary Overview
Garry Erickson
July 7, 1948 – December 10, 2018
Garry passed away peacefully at the Deer Lodge Centre after a six year struggle with dementia.
He is survived by his wife Linda of 37 years, three brothers, one sister, five nephews and two nieces.
Garry worked most of his life for the city of Winnipeg in various departments retiring from Forestry in 2009. Garry’s biggest passion was bagpipes, learning at an early age, he was in many bands winning many of the medals in competitions. Through bagpipes he met his longtime friend of over 50 years Doug Brown. They enjoyed piping together and golfing throughout the years. Garry and Linda also enjoyed travelling. They took two bus tours to Europe, drove coast to coast in Canada and throughout most of the United States.
I would like to thank Lindsay Bacala from the Deer Lodge Centre and all the staff from T3 and T4 for their wonderful care they gave Garry in the past two years.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Garry Erickson 2018..
