Obituary of Evelyn Power
Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at Dr. A.A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital, Old Perlican on Friday, September 28, 2018, Evelyn Power of Caplin Cove, age 93 years. Predeceased by husband: Ronald; son: Melvin; daughter-in-law: Marina; parents: William and Flora Bursey; one sister: Mabel and three brothers: Roy, Clayton, and John. Leaving to mourn, six daughters: Margaret (Bill) Vye, Cynthia (Paul) Turpin, Donna (Vince) Delaney, Norma Power, Shirley Power, and Karen (Jeff) Squires; four sons: Clarence (Karen), Dave, Alonzo (Mamie), and Graham (Betty); daughter-in-law: Paula; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; brother: Frank (Dot) Bursey; sister-in-law: Irene Bursey; friends and staff at Baccalieu Retirement Living, Old Perlican; also other relatives and friends. A special thank you to the Doctors, nurses, and staff at Dr. A.A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital for their compassion and care. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Monday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Tuesday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Western Bay. Interment in the United Cemetery, Caplin Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Evelyn Power Memorial Fund c/o Noel’s Funeral Homes, 106 Water Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A9.
