Evelyn Eileen Jamieson – 90, Gulf Shore, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Gulf Shore, she was the daughter of late Laurie and Evelyn (Langille) MacLeod. In her younger years Eileen worked at several restaurants in the Pugwash area and later taught at several schools in Cumberland County. Later she and her husband Gordon worked their own mixed farm while raising their family. Eileen was not only a hard worker, taking on a lot of the farming chores, but was also an excellent cook; everyone looked forward to her meals and she always made sure no one left the table hungry. She also enjoyed volunteering at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary store and was an adherent of the United Church of Canada. Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn (Marius) Rasmussen, Malagash, Dianne (Gary) McGillivary, Atlanta, Ga., Judy (Kevin) Polley, Pugwash; son, Vaughn (Sylvia) Jamieson, Gulf Shore; grandchildren, Christopher (Crystal), Karla (Evan), Jennifer, Jaclyn (Jeremy), Mitchell (Lauren), Jessica (John); great-grandchildren, Emma, Josie, Finn, Nora, Olivia, Ryan, Emily, Liam, Caleb, Wesley and Calvin; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; sisters, June MacLeod, Margaret MacLeod and Norma Jean Rafuse; brother, Garnet MacLeod. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, in Mundle’s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (902 243-2506), from where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6. Rev. Connie McNamara officiating. Burial in the Waugh Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Waugh Cemetery.
