Eustachio Notargiacomo
March 18, 1927 – October 15, 2018
After a prolonged illness Eustachio Notargiacomo passed away at St. Jean -sur-Richelieu Hospital, on Monday October 15, 2018 at 4:26 pm. Born in Frosinone Italy on March 18, 1927. As a young man, he chose to immigrate to Canada and made Montreal his home. He arrived in Canada with a half empty suitcase and ambition. With the help of his older sister Antoinetta and her husband Rocco, Eustachio found work and saved his money. Before long he sent for his young wife Giovanna Fierimonte “the most beautiful woman in his village” and infant son- to join him in Montreal. Entrepreneur extraordinaire, Eustachio went on to build Canada Excavation & provided his family with an extremely comfortable life. Eustachio was a superior golfer, looked forward to deer hunting in the fall and ice fishing in the winter. He was social man who loved to entertain and travel. He would sing old Italian songs on Sunday mornings while he joyfully prepared homemade pasta and sauce for our lunch. Eustachio loved his family and we were truly blessed to have him in our lives. Always humble and kind to all, Eustachio was a proud citizen, he loved his fellow Montrealers and they loved him. Eustachio leaves behind his wife of 64 years, his son Mario, daughter Elena Miller, his “precious grandchildren” Mitchell, Julian & Alexis Grace Middling, his brothers Rafael and Victor and sisters Marietta and Loretta and numerous nieces and nephews. Eustachio so enjoyed the Notargiacomo family get togethers. In heaven he is reunited with his father Francesco, his mother Maria Pia Forte, brothers Domenico and Antonio, sisters Antoinetta Yiacovelli and Anita Ricci. Dearest Poppy, you will always be remembered for your generosity, and the love you gave us. You will continue to live on in our hearts. Thank you Uncle Victor for your steadfast support. Thank you to Jimmy Rego – friend and neighbor to our father. Sincere thank you to the hospital staff, my father truly appreciated your kindness and help. The family will receives condolences at Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525, chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal, Québec, H3V1E7, on Wednesday October 24, 2018 from 11am to 1;30pm. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the center at 2pm. Thence to Côte-des-Neiges Cemetery.
Après une longue maladie, Eustachio Notargiacomo est décédé à l’hôpital Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, le lundi 15 octobre 2018 à 16h26. Né à Frosinone en Italie, le 18 mars 1927. Jeune homme, il choisit d’immigrer au Canada et s’installe à Montréal. Il est arrivé au Canada avec une valise à moitié vide et de l’ambition. Avec l’aide de sa sœur aînée Antoinetta et de son mari Rocco, Eustachio a trouvé du travail et économisé son argent. Peu de temps après, il a fait venir sa jeune épouse Giovanna Fierimonte, « la plus belle femme de son village » et son nouveau-né, pour le rejoindre à Montréal. Entrepreneur extraordinaire, Eustachio construisit Canada Excavation et offrit à sa famille une vie extrêmement confortable. Eustachio était un golfeur supérieur, il était impatient de chasser le cerf à l’automne et de pêcher sur la glace en hiver. C’était un homme social qui aimait recevoir et voyager. Il chantait de vieilles chansons italiennes le dimanche matin pendant qu’il préparait avec joie des pâtes et de la sauce maison pour notre déjeuner. Eustachio aimait sa famille et nous avons été vraiment bénis de l’avoir dans nos vies. Toujours humble et gentil avec tous, Eustachio était un citoyen fier, il aimait ses concitoyens montréalais et ils l’aimaient. Eustachio laisse derrière lui son épouse depuis 64 ans, son fils Mario, sa fille Elena Miller, ses « précieux petits-enfants », Mitchell, Julian et Alexis Grace Middling, ses frères Rafael et Victor et ses soeurs Marietta et Loretta ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces. Eustachio a tellement apprécié les réunions de la famille Notargiacomo. Au paradis, il retrouve son père Francesco, sa mère Maria Pia Forte, ses frères Domenico et Antonio, ses soeurs Antoinetta Yiacovelli et Anita Ricci. Cher coquelicot, on se souviendra toujours de toi pour ta générosité et l’amour que tu nous as donné. Vous continuerez à vivre dans nos cœurs. Merci Oncle Victor pour votre soutien indéfectible. Merci à Jimmy Rego – ami et voisin de notre père. Merci sincèrement au personnel de l’hôpital, mon père a vraiment apprécié votre gentillesse et votre aide. La famille recevra vos condoléances au Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525, chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal, Québec, H3V1E7, le mercredi 24 octobre 2018 de 11am à 13h30pm. Les funérailles seront célébrées à la chapelle du centre à 14h00. Suivra la mise en crypte au Cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges.
