Obituary of Ethel Brown
Brown: Ethel Amy Elizabeth (nee Anderson), passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the age of 89. Cherished daughter of the late Charles and Mary Anderson. Ethel was raised in Oil Springs but became a long time resident of Dresden. She was the beloved wife of Gerald (Buss) Brown for 69 years. She was a loving mother to Francis (Diane) Brown of Dresden, Douglas (Linda) Brown of Chatham, Dennis (Cheryl) Brown of Dresden and Darlene (Mark) McIntosh of Chatham. Ethel was an incredible grandmother to her 11 grandchildren, Stephanie (Ray) Harper, Karen (Kent) Hamilton, Corinne (Dan) Jackson, Tim (Shawna) Brown, Lindsay Swayze, Steven (Jennie) Brown, Stacey (Brandon) Winegard, Ashley (Daniel) Ciccarelli, Nicole (Daniel) Boddez and Courtney McIntosh (Brett Fujii). Predeceased by granddaughter Krista O’Leary (Victor) 2012. Ethel is survived by 22 great grandchildren. She was the sister to the late Hilda (Jack) Wagner, Lorne (Shirley) Anderson and Wilmer (Pat) Anderson. Special sister-in-law to June (Stewart) Smith and the late Ed (Edna) Brown and the late Donna (Laurie) Deighton. Ethel was an accomplished quilter and enjoyed spending time playing cards or tending to her gardens. The Brown family will receive friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North St., Dresden on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment in Dresden Cemetery.
