Pender, Emma Diana,
70, of Bible Hill, passed away
peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the Colchester East
Hants Health Centre, Truro, surrounded by her loving family. Born in
Truro, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mildred (Roode)
Doyle. Diana worked as an LPN for over 40 years and retired from the
Colchester Regional Hospital. Her grandchildren were her pride and
joy. After the passing of her beloved daughter, Heather, in 2011, she
was honoured to raise Cameron as one of her own. She loved talking on
the phone and spending time with her family, collecting snowmen, doing
crossword puzzles, shopping and getting the best bargains possible.
Diana was a very private, hardworking and resilient person who always
put others first. She is survived by her daughter, Tricia (Mike)
Livingston, Fredericton, NB; son, David (Kelli) Pender, Quispamsis,
NB; grandchildren, Cameron, Cole, and Ben Pender, Brooke and Kate
Livingston; beloved dog, Zoe; former husband, Ian Pender; siblings,
Marlyn (Ron) Wolfe, Norma (Marshall) Frizzell, Arthur
“Butch” (Nancy) Doyle, all of Bible Hill, Phillip
Doyle, Ottawa, Shelley (Kent) Archibald, Valley; and close friend
Susan Dennis. She was predeceased by her daughter, Heather Pender;
brothers, William “Bill”, Keith
“Sonny”, and Donald “Duck” Doyle.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral
Home, 55 Young Street Truro, from where the visitation will be held
from 2 – 4 pm on Saturday, September 15, and from where the
funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Sunday, September 16 with
Rev. Joe Lucas officiating. A reception will follow at the funeral
home and a private family interment will take place at the Bible Hill
Cemetery. Donations in Diana’s memory may be made to the
IWK, The Children’s Wish Foundation or to a charity of
