Obituary of Elvina Shantz
Died peacefully at her home at RR 1, West Montrose, on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the age of 98 years. Elvina (Wideman) Shantz was the wife of the late Orvie W. Shantz (1984). Mother of Levi and Edna of RR 1, West Montrose, Ada and Eli L. Martin of RR 1, Elmira, Eva and Ivan Martin of RR 1, Ariss, Edgar and Eva of RR 1, Waterloo, Edna and Elo Weber of RR 1, Mount Forest, Elmer and Alice, and Oscar and Selema, of RR 1, West Montrose, Mary and Irvin Weber of RR 1, Mount Forest and mother-in-law of Mrs. Elsie Shantz of West Montrose, Ibra Martin of Mount Forest, Mrs. Selinda Shantz of Chesley, and Mrs. Valina Shantz of Mount Forest. Grandmother of 71 grandchildren, 258 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Survived by two sisters and one sister-in-law. Predeceased by sons Maurice, Osiah, Amos, David and Harvey, daughter Salema Martin, one daughter in infancy, daughter-in-law Pauline, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Relatives and friends may call from 2-4:30 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, and from 1-5 p.m on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the home of Cleason Shantz, 1033 Tribe Road, RR 1, West Montrose. A family service will be held at the home at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018, then to Winterbourne Mennonite Meeting House for burial and public service. Arrangements entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
