Obituary Overview
Joan West
Elizabeth Joan West was born June 25, 1928 to Frederick and Phyllis Hart. Joan was raised on the family farm near Landis, SK along with her siblings Ken, Bruce, Annette and Jack. Joan married and had 4 children; Dale (Lucie), Doug (Laurel), Dean (Lorna) and Dan Merryfield. Joan resided in Biggar and in 1959, moved to Saskatoon. She worked at Sears for a few years and then went on to a career in hairdressing at Marvel. While visiting her sister in Ottawa, she met the love of her life, Richard West, a redheaded Scotsman who swept her off her feet. They married in December of 1968 and she left her life here in Saskatoon and with her boys moved to Ottawa. After the death of her youngest son Dan, Joan and Richard moved back to Saskatoon to be closer to family and friends. Both Joan and Richard decided they preferred cards to shoveling snow and gardening, so in 2001, they made the move to Luther Heights. In 2008, Richard passed away leaving Joan broken hearted. But she was a tough cookie and carried on with the support of family and many friends at Luther Heights. Joan passed away on November 5, 2018, with her family by her side, to join Richard and Dan. She will be dearly missed by her sons, 9 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Elizabeth Joan West 2018..
