Elda Benedet, our beloved mother, nonna and bis-nonna, passed away peacefully at Columbia View Lodge on July 14, 2018. She was reunited with her husband Giovanni.
Elda was born in Gruara, Italy. Before immigrating to Trail in February 1949, she married Giovanni Benedet on November 20, 1948. They made their amazing life together and were blessed with four children.
Elda was happiest when she was at home watching her children grow along with her garden for which she had a passion. She lived a life of generosity, selflessness and compassion.
As her children grew and eventually moved away, her favourite times were when they would all gather back home again. Elda showed her love through her amazing cooking, preparing favourite meals and baking with her grandchildren. Her talents had no boundaries as her love for her family and friends.
Outside the home, Elda spent many years cooking and helping with numerous banquets and events. She was a member of the Italo Canadese Society for over fifty years.
Elda is survived by her children; Ed (Irene), Lorraine, Eileen (Steve) and Rick (Tina), her cherished grandchildren; Jason, Stacy, Jordan, Tyler, Jacob and Ashley, her great-grandchildren; Lexie, Isabel and Emerson. She is also survived by her lifelong dear friend, Elsa Zuccato, relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
