Obituary of Eileen Fitzsimons
Eileen Louise Fitzsimons
(nee Svederus)
July 24, 1931 to June 30, 2018
Mrs. Eileen Louise Fitzsimons, beloved wife of the late Mr. George Fitzsimons of Elnora passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on June 30, 2018 at the age of 86.
Lovingly remembered by her children Ed (Sonja), Vince (Sherry), Robert (Kathy), Kelly, and Glenn (Christine), 8 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Survived by brothers Allan (Beryl), George (Audrey) and Bob (Towden), Eileen was predeceased by her parents Lydia and Herman Svederus, and sister Ruby.
Eileen completed her secondary education in Delburne and went on to earn her LPN degree from St. Michael’s in Lethbridge. Eileen met her husband to be, George, when he was a patient at the Elnora Hospital and went on to be married on May 8, 1954 in Calgary. Eileen’s early-married life was filled with the care of her five lively boys. She worked as an LPN at Elnora Hospital for many years, retiring when the hospital closed in 1995. She loved to spend time with family and experience adventure through travel. She was a voracious reader, avid carpet bowler and gardener and a great dispenser of sound and practical advice.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Eileen
