Edward Schwab
Edward John Schwab, age 85 of Swift Current SK, passed away on July 10, 2018 at Cypress Regional Hospital. The funeral mass was held at 11:00 a.m. on July 16, 2018 at Christ the Redeemer Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Reymundo Asis officiating. The interment service was held at Mount Pleasant Burial Park. Edward is survived by his spouse, Kathleen; children, Randy (Deb Wagner) and their family, Jason (Jeanette) and Craig (Nat); Sandy (Tim) Feschuk and their family, Jamie (Charles) and Jennifer (Mike); Karen (Terry) Porochnavy and their family, Tory, Jeff (Leanne) and Taylor; Patti (Brad) Wagner and their family Noah, Aaron and Jocelyn (Jonathan) Kuntz; great-grandchildren, McKayla, Rachael, Hannah, Avery and Morgan; brothers and sister, Don (Carol), Marlene (Dave) Fitzsimmons, Chris (Marilyn) and Dwayne; sister-in-law, Janice (Paul) Langhan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his mother, Cecilia and father, Frank (Frances) Schwab; sisters, Caroline (Merv) Bannister and Maryanne Anumdson; brothers, Joe (Mary) Keller and Raymond – Mickey Schwab. Edward was born in Kerrobert SK on June 6, 1933. He married Kathleen Powell on September 27, 1958. Ed worked in construction throughout Saskatchewan, mainly employed by Remai Construction as a Superintendent, and then as a Property Manager until his retirement in 1998. He was an avid golfer (Elmwood Golf Club member) and hockey player (SJHL and Swift Current Blues Oldtimers) until his knees said, “No more.” Ed held season tickets with the Swift Current Broncos since 1968. He loved playing cribbage, poker, buck, kaiser and canasta with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.
