Obituary of Edna Tufts
TUFTS, Edna May – Age 70, of Simpsons Corner, passed away at home on November 1st, 2018. Born on January 6th, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Elsie (Simpson) Tufts.
Edna is lovingly missed by her daughters, Susie Tufts, Wileville; Peggy Tufts, East Clifford; Brenda (William) Simpson, Hemford; son, Lloyd (Shauna) Tufts, Simpsons Corner; granddaughters, Anne and Julia; niece, Jean Zinck, Nictaux; and nephew, Lee (Christine) Zinck, Simpsons Corner.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Tufts; sister, Mabel Zinck; infant brother, Lawrence; infant niece, Judy Zinck and great-niece, Macy Mae Zinck.
She worked several jobs over the years. She was a wreath maker for Clell and Dale Jodrey, Willard and Veronica Wagner and for DeLong’s Farms. She was a house keeper and babysitter; she worked at Suttles and Seawinds, Egg Roll King and Tim Horton’s. Edna enjoyed playing cards, hooking rugs, making quilts, doing crossword books, putting together puzzles, knitting, making bread everyday and watching Coronation St. She was a firm believer in lots of hugs and kisses for everyone. She was a lover of music, especially Saturday Night Classics, and no one was ever a stranger for long with Edna around. She loved going for drives with Albert and seeing the sights, taking lots of pictures, and her love of lady slippers was something to behold. And above all else, Edna lived for having everyone together and making sure everyone was well-fed.
By request there will be no visitation. A joint celebration of life for Edna and her husband, Albert, will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 1pm in the Hemford Fire Hall, located at 2121 Highway 208, Hemford NS. Pastor Paul Jensen officiating. A private family burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Simpsons Corner. Family flowers only.
