Edith “Edie”‘s Obituary
SIMPSON, Edith Alberta “Edie” ~ age 78 of Victoria Vale, NS passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2018 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Annie (Weaver) Chesley. Edie retired after 20 years with the Middleton Police Department as a secretary and dispatcher and was very proud of her job. Prior to that, she was employed with the Town of Middleton Public Works Department and enjoyed gardening, knitting and loved her animals and the wildlife. Edie loved her family dearly and she will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Harold Simpson and Dawson Simpson, both of Victoria Vale; her siblings, Jack (Jean) Chesley, Spa Springs; Ron (Sandra) Chesley, Middleton; Sam (Linda) Chesley, Londonderry, NS; Mary (Greg) Bent, Kentville and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ralph Simpson. A special thank you to Jeanie for all her care and compassion shown to our mom. In keeping with Edie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private interment will be held in the Hillside Cemetery, Port George. Donations in memory may be made to CAPS Companion Animal Protection Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448.
