E. Jacqueline “Jackie” Myles
MYLES, E. Jacqueline “Jackie” (nee Coates)- age 91, passed away peacefully on November 15,2018 at the Villa St Joseph du Lac in Dayton, Yarmouth Co., N.S. Born in Nappan, Amherst Co. NS. on September 13, 1927 she was a daughter of the late Rupert Wiley Coates and Sadie Agnes Coates. She graduated from Yarmouth school of nursing as a Registered Nurse where she also obtained post graduate studies in OR and obstetrics. Jackie worked as a nurse at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital for 36 years and was charge nurse on obstetrics for over 20 of those years. Nursing with truly her calling, and she truly loved her profession. In her spare time her passions were home decorating, antiquing, gardening and baking. She was an active member for many years of the Yarmouth garden club and volunteered on many committees in Holy Trinity Anglican Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and besides her parents predeceased by her husband, Robert Myles; sisters, Mary, Margaret, Dorothea and brother Toler. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Glenn) Throp Pinder; grandchildren, Ian Throp, Allyson Throp , Madison Pinder and Allison Pinder, all of St. Catharines , ON. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will take place Monday, November 19, 2018 from 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home South Room. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 2 P.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Tory Byrne officiating. Interment will take place in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery at a later date. A reception will follow the service at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Hall located at 61 William Street, Yarmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Yarmouth Regional Hospital or a charity of choice.
