E. Boyd Stewart
Stewart, E. Boyd – 81, Shortts Lake, passed away December 30, 2018 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Albany, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Arthur and Louise (Warren) Stewart. Boyd arrived in Truro at the age of 16 years and began work as a printer. He moved to Halifax where he worked for the Nova Scotia Provincial Government (Hansard) and then moved to Shortts Lake where he and his family currently reside. He loved dancing and bowling in his younger days. He also enjoyed his retirement years at the lake, gardening, fishing, watching sailboat races and spending time with his grandson, Mitchell. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eleanor (Wilson); son, James, Shortts Lake; grandson, Mitchell; sister, Pearl (Morris) Clark, Alton; brothers, Wendell (Darlene), St. Stephen, N.B., David “Junior”, Albany, P.E.I; sisters-in-law, Diane Stewart, Diane Laird and brother-in-law, Donnie Noonan; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Jean Rogers and brothers, Lloyd and Alton. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 5th at 1:00p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with the Rev. Kaj Binderup officiating. Visitation and reception to follow service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Immanuel Baptist Church.
