Obituary of Douglas Peters
Retired Keswick Carpenter, Locksmith, Police Officer and Firefighter, Douglas died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 19th, 2018 at Southlake Regional Hospital, Newmarket, at the age of 82 years. Douglas was one of 15 children, to Elmer and Marjorie Peters and the first identical twins (brother Dan 2013) to be born at York County Hospital. Beloved husband of 62 years of Joan Peters (nee Summerfield) of Keswick. Loving father of Stephen (Janet) and Sean (Jennifer), both of Keswick, Doug of Woodstock and of the late Lorraine and her surviving husband Michael of Pickering. Cherished ‘Grampa’ of Michael, Brian (Michelle), Michelle (Iggy), David, Darryl (Erin), Kristi, Lindsay, Ava and Nathan, and great grandfather of Brooke, Faith, Cameron, Marinna, Deanna, Alice, Riley, Olivia and Nixon. Dear brother of Jack (Grace), Isobel and Coleen. Predeceased by his siblings Bill, Ken, Jean, Doris, Marg, Ted, Kay, Ron, Bev, Dan and Grace. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation at the M.W. Becker Funeral Home, 490 The Queensway South, Keswick on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Monday, Service in the Chapel at 11 a.m., with a gathering one hour prior.
