Obituary of Douglas Sheppard
Sheppard: Douglas Garnet
It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of our brother, brother in law, uncle, and friend Douglas Garnet Sheppard, who passed away at the Kingston General Hospital on Saturday July 7, 2018. Doug, born October 27, 1943, is predeceased by his parents Evelyn and George Sheppard. He was the beloved brother of Ted (Pam), Margaret (Harold) Mills and Mary (Stephen) Goodchild. Dear uncle of Alyson Sheppard (Scott Gerrie), Ted (Mary) Sheppard, Tim (Tara) Mills, David Mills (Breck Sheppard), Lianne Bowen, Mark Goodchild, Danny Goodchild (Jen McGongeal), and Laura Goodchild. Great uncle to Jack, Luke, Teddy, and Beau Sheppard, Abby and Kate Mills, Carly Bowen and Quinn Goodchild. Doug loved his home town of Gananoque and the St. Lawrence River. He would often say it’s the best place to live. He was a kind man who in spite of all his challenges enjoyed life and brought joy to others. He will be missed by all who knew him. We would like to thank Dr. J. Taylor, Dr. Lee and his staff especially Michelle, the caring staff of Kidd 9 and to Tompkins Funeral Home for all their help and support through Doug’s illness. Cremation has taken place. Further arrangements will be made at a later date. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
