Obituary of Douglas Thede
Suddenly at his home with his wife by his side, on Tuesday morning, January 16th, 2018. Douglas Allan Thede, of Holland Centre, at the age of 83 years. Dearly loved husband of Marilyn Thede (nee Kinch) for 53 years. Loving father of Jim Thede (Heidi), of Kilsyth, Betty Hamilton (Bryon), of Tara, Karen Stephen, of Owen Sound, Bill Thede (Sheri Murphy), of Holland Centre and Heather Thede, of Owen Sound. Proud grandfather of Leah, Erin, Jacob, Shelby, Katie, Jordan, Taylor, Josh, Connor, Mitch, Matt, Hunter, Abby and great-grandfather of Paige, Lexie and Bryon. Dear brother of Murray Thede (Joyce), Harry Thede and brother-in-law of Donelda Thede, all of Port Elgin. Douglas will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and neighbours. Predeceased by his parents, Eldon and Edna Thede; his grandson, Christopher Thede; his brother, Glen “Spud” Thede; his sister-in-law, Shirley Thede. Douglas was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #340, Port Elgin.

WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Douglas Thede will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday, January 20th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kara McCluskie officiating. Spring interment in Sanctuary Park Cemetery, Port Elgin. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Chapman House Hospice as an expression of sympathy.
