Douglas Gordon Latimer December 19 1945 November 25 2018 (age 72)

Doug was born in Ponoka on December 19, 1945 to Katherine and Gordon Latimer. He was the youngest of four children and lived on a farm west of town until he was seven. The family moved to Ponoka and from here, Doug graduated from high school. He left town for a few years to work in Edmonton and Camrose. In 1971 he met Shirley and they were married on April 15, 1976. They raised their two children, Brent and Megan, in the house they built in Riverside. Doug’s working years in Ponoka were with Encana. He loved travelling in his motorhome with his family, especially to the Oregon Coast. He passed away on November 25, 2018. He will always be remembered by his family and friends.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of forty-two years, Shirley; his children Brent (Sushan) and Megan (Nan); sister Marion; as well as many nephews and nieces.
Doug was predeceased by his parents Katherine and Gordon and his siblings Larry and Jean.
A Funeral Service will be held at Ponoka Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018.
Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Ponoka Wheelchair Van Society, F.C.S.S or any charity of your choice.
