Obituary of DOROTHY HARVEY
HARVEY, Dorothy Marguerite (nee Duesling) – Born February 23, 1930 and passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on Monday May 14, 2018 of Boston in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Morley Harvey. Loved mother of Linda (and Vic), Ken (and Christine), Garry (and Kim). Cherished grandmother of Brad (and Janice), Elizabeth (and Vince), Matthew, Amanda, Corey, Crystal, Kathleen, and great grandchildren Mason, Taylor, and Molleigh. Dear sister of Pauline (and Ron) Swan, sisters-in-law Muriel, Alice, Helen, and Shirley. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her cousins, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Cecil and Ida Duesling, brothers Gerald, and Bob and sisters Ether, and Eleanor. Dorothy grew up in the Villa Nova area. In her late teens she moved to Boston and worked as a nurse’s aid at Brantford General Hospital. While living in Boston, she met Morley Harvey and they married in August of 1951. Dorothy devoted her life to her husband and children. She worked for many years on the family farm along side her husband, father and mother-in-law (Russell and Ina) in the family business “Harvey’s Meat Market”. While her husband did the farming and trucking, she spent many hours working in the “meat shop” and Saturdays at the Brantford Farmer’s Market with her father-in-law. Years later she and her youngest son Garry continued running the “meat shop” until government regulations forced them to close the doors. She attended Boston Baptist Church for many years until she moved to Waterford and resided at Golden Pond Retirement Home in 2012. Thank you to the staff at Golden Pond for the happy years you gave her. Thank you to Dr. Thorogood and the nursing staff on 4B at Norfolk General Hospital for their compassion. Dorothy devoted her life to family and her savior Jesus Christ. Friends may be received at THOMPSON-MOTT FUNERAL HOME, Waterford on Thursday May 17, 2018 from 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday May 18, 2018 at 11am. Pastor Steve Woods officiating. Interment Wilsonville Cemetery.
