Obituary for
Don Pretty
It is with great sadness that the family of John Donald Pretty announces his sudden passing on Sunday, December 2nd, 2018, at the age of 71 years.
Left to mourn are his loving children Tracy (Mark Montico) and Jeff (Kelly), and grandchildren Abby, Gabrielle, Sara, Jesse, Kira, Jake and Johnathan. He also leaves behind his brother William (Janet), and his sisters Jacqueline Morissette (Charlie), Joyce Clement (late Roger), and Nona Worth (Gerry), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Ardella (nee Cook), and by his sisters Ruth Martin (late Stu), and Joy Badour (late Clifford).
Don was born on August 1, 1947, and grew up in Timmins. He left to serve in the Royal Canadian Navy and then returned to work for the Ontario Provincial Police for 30 years. He worked as a radio operator, instructor, and also set up and maintained their computer systems.
Don spent his free time woodworking and cooking, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren. He was always around to help with any project and always found a solution for any problem that would present itself.
A Celebration of Don’s life will be held between 1 pm and 4 pm on Sunday, December 9th, at the Ramada Timmins.
In lieu of flowers or charitable donations, please give the gift of life and donate blood as an honor to Don’s memory. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
