It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to our beloved patriarch Donald William Smith. Dad was born February 11, 1932. He married Phoebe Warren on April 28, 1953 and they had 6 children and over 65 wonderful years together. Unfortunately, Dad had been in declining health for the past few months but, thankfully slipped peacefully away on Sunday December 9, 2018
He is predeceased by: his parents Walter and Alice (1988), Sister Louise (Jack), Brother Bert (Hilda), son-in-law Dennis.
Left behind to mourn his passing are: his loving wife, Phoebe; sons: Donald (Janet), Warren (Nancy) and daughters: Janice (Kim), Joyce (George), Cheryl, Karen (Michael); 17 Grandchildren and 14 Great-grandchildren also his brother Paul (Isabel) and brother-in-law Heber Jr. Warren (Rowena); as well as a large circle of other family and friends.
Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews , Monday from 7p.m.- 9p.m. and Tuesday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the All Saint Parish, Foxtrap on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Dunn’s Hill Road, Foxtrap.
Donations may be made in Donald memory to: The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, the Alzheimer Society of Canada or All Saints Parish, Foxtrap.
