Obituary of Donald Holt
HOLT , Donald -age 79 of Meagher’s Grant passed away October 23, 2018 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in Union Station, he was a son of the late George and Catherine (Grant) Holt.
Donald worked in the woods for several years then became a machinist by trade, employed at Purdy Brothers in Halifax. In the 1970’s he worked out of his own shop rebuilding and selling used welding machines.
He enjoyed classic country music, following world news and politics. He was a staunch member of the Conservative Party.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Goldie; daughters, Treva, Anita; grandson, Yong Joon Park; sisters, Catherine Holt and Mary Brackett; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Maude, Jean and Louise.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2pm Monday, October 29 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2 Shubenacadie; Rev. Dr. Linda Yates officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Society or the Nova Scotia Kidney Foundation.
