Obituary of Donald Steward
STEWARD, Donald Frank – passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 in his 92nd year. (Chief Warrant Officer CD ret. RCEME of 37 years)
Donald Steward of Petawawa, devoted husband of 71 years to Barbara Ellen Steward (nee Ogglesby). Cherished father of Sharon Dainty (Bill), Debbie Mick (Reid), Star Pearson (the late Don, August 25, 2018) and Fred Steward (Cindy). Predeceased by daughter Frankie-Jane Giller (September 15, 2016) (Keith). Beloved grandfather of Jamey (Sonia), Shawna (J.T.), Jennie, Katie (Mike), Rebecca (Matt) and Eythan. Dearly loved great-grandfather of Rachel, John, Isabella, Joseph, Kate, Meredith, Daniel, Eddie, Nila and Noah. Son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Steward. Brother of Kenny (Louise). Predeceased by brothers Fred and Gordon. Donald was a proud, dedicated career military man who followed in his father’s footsteps, as did his 3 brothers.
Respecting Donald’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service and interment of ashes will take place in the spring. Arrangements by the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. For those wishing to donate, you may do so to The University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
