MATTHEWS, Donald Roland Isaac. With overwhelming grief, we announce the death of our father on December 5, 2018 at St. Michael’s Hospital. Dad and his wife of 21 years, Leona (d. December 1, 2018), are now together with their Lord. Loving father of Shelley Matthews (Dan Sullivan), Shari Auger (Rob), and Tracey Jackson (Steve). Proud grandfather of Kailey Wellman (Mark), Tianna, Zachary, Rylan (Carleigh), DeLaney, and Jaydon Auger, Daniel Sullivan, Braden and Caylie Jackson. Great grandfather of Eleanor, Calvin, and Aileen Auger.
Dad is survived by his brother, Blake (Donna), and his sister Meralyn (Tom Chappell, predeceased). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Dad owned Don Matthews Auto Body and Minden Plymouth Chrysler; however, his true passion was farming and he taught his “city girl” daughters to drive tractors, harvest hay, and recognize cattle breeds, and their friends to enjoy treks on the farm and home made maple syrup. Dad instilled in us a love of both sky and sea as he piloted us to the Toronto Santa Claus parade for several years and took us on boating holidays for many summers. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road on Saturday December 15, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 am followed by a Memorial Service. Reception to follow. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
