Donald Gordon Crawford
Crawford, Donald Gordon – of Goderich, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 28th, 2018 in his 69th year. Dearly beloved by his girlfriend Valerie Gillies. Cherished father of Greg Crawford (partner Kim Ottens) and Jackie (Eric) Plantenga. Proud Grandfather of Robert and Mackenzie Crawford and Paige and Alex Plantenga. Adored son of Joan Crawford. Survived by mother of Greg and Jackie, Penny Haskett. Predeceased by Gordon “Sporty Gord” Crawford and Bruce Crawford. Much loved brother to Becky (David) McIvor. Donald will also be missed by his nieces Christine (Steven) Iocco and Candice (Ryan) Shelton. Great uncle to Madden, Josie and Grace Iocco, Lily, Ivor and Cash Shelton. Donald was known for being a stand up man and true gentleman who was passionate about music, motorcycles, bicycles and snowmobiles. His love of hockey kept him on the ice coaching and playing. He started playing Minor Hockey and continued playing until he was able to join “old timers” hockey. He will also be fondly remembered for his quiet and soft spoken nature, his natural ability to encourage and mentor, and his love of the beach, lake and boats. A celebration of his life will be held at the Goderich Royal Canadian Legion Branch 109 (56 Kingston Street, Goderich) on Saturday June 16th, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 12 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or to the Goderich Royal Canadian Legion –Branch 109.
