Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory of Don Carlton
Don Carlton of Oakville, Ontario passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on September 2, 2018. Born on March 8, 1927 in Carnduff, Saskatchewan. Don is predeceased by his wife Freda (2012) and brothers Buck, Bruce, Stu, Bill and Morrison (Tore).
Don is survived by his children and their spouses: JoAnn and Mike Jennings of Burlington and Ron and Trish Carlton of Oakville, Ont. Grandpa Don will be missed by his grandchildren Heidi Michelle Armstrong and Spencer and Robyn Carlton and his great-grandchildren Hunter and Logan Armstrong. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Irene Carlton and June Anna and Ron Quesnelle, June Carlton, Anne Carlton, Edna Cunningham and Rita Gribben. Special uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Don was a veteran of the Korean War (1951 – 1952). In 1962 Don began his career as an independent businessman as the owner of Associated Printing Services (Oakville) Limited. Don was a founding member of the White Oaks Group and a friend of Bill W’s for 60 years. He lived his life according to the Serenity Prayer and the motto “One Day at a Time.”
A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 12 noon to 3:00 pm at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope Place Centres (hopeplacecentres.org) or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
