It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Dieter passed away peacefully surrounded by family, much love, prayers and music.
He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Lynda Poschmann; son Chris (Jacquie) Poschmann, daughter Lisa (Justin) Cox, daughter Jamie (Jason) Hubick; eight grandchildren Aubrey, Jesse, Nickson, Jake, Rowan, Tyler, Harper & Paige; mother Maria Poschmann; sisters Margaret (Clarence) Jungwirth, Theresa (Richard) Borys, Laurie (Rob) Chubb, Connie (Phil) Therrien and Deb (Joe) Scott; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Dieter was predeceased by his father, Josef Poschmann; and in-laws, Al and Velli Brissette.
Dieter was respected and loved by all who knew him. His greatest accomplishment was undoubtedly his family and he adored his grandchildren. A retired member of the RCMP, he was hard working and was always there to be of help to others. Dieter loved family, music, camping, spending time at their summer property at Wasa Lake, B.C. and fixing anything he could get his hands on.
Dieter’s courage and optimism during many of his recent challenges was truly inspiring. A role model for us all, he will be so greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be celebrated by Reverend Joe Glaab, OFM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 13 Brower Dr, Sherwood Park, AB on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial tributes can be made to the Sarcoma Cancer Foundation of Canada.
As a family, we would like to take the opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Misericordia Hospital on Unit 6W. The love and compassion shown towards Dieter, and indeed to us all, is something we will hold dear in our hearts.
