It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Diane “Nana” Schweitzer, announce her unexpected passing in Grande Prairie, Alberta on Monday February 5th, 2018.
She was born in hythe, Alberta on September 18th, 1959 to Fred and Ella Schweitzer. Diane devoted her life to raising her two children, Tyler and Whitney. Later on, her life was completely devoted to her grandbabies.
She is survived by her mother, Ella Steinke; brother, Larry Schweitzer; sister, Linda Harding (Alvin); son,Tyler Cartwright; daughter, Whitney George (Terence); 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Diane was pre-deceased by her father, Fred Schweitzer; step-father, Walter Steinke; brother, Dale Schweitzer; sister-in-law, Shirley Schweitzer; and nephew, Jay Schweitzer.
Diane loved nothing more than good food and gathering with her friends and family. She is dearly missed by all her family, the furry ones too.
“Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.”
A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 15th, 2018 at 2:00pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Donations in memory of Diane may be made to the In The Woods Rescue Organization, inthewoods@zoho.com.
